Who are the Ismailis?

Ismailis are a self-proclaimed sub-sect of Shia Islam, and are led by Prince Karim Aga Khan, who is a half-European billionaire, a former world-class skier and the one-time stepson of Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth.

He claims direct descent from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), much like thousands of Muslim ‘Syeds’ living in the South Asian sub-continent, but has never been spotted inside any Masjid (Mosque) of the world, has never been spotted offering any prayer, and has never been to the Holy Kaaba, the place where millions of Muslims from around the world gather for the annual Pilgrimage (Hajj) at least once in their lifetimes.
